Vedanta Skill Schools in Chhattisgarh train nearly 600 youth in FY22
10,000 youth made employable and self-reliant since inception
Balconagar; 16th May, 2022: The Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium Business, has trained nearly 600 youth of Chhattisgarh through the Vedanta Skill Schools in Korba, Kawardha and Mainpat in FY22. Most of the graduates have found employment with India’s leading companies in power, steel, automotive, solar and hospitality industries.
The Vedanta Skill School provides robust technical education to trainees, preparing them for vocations that enable them to become financially self-reliant. The institute imparts free residential training in six trades of food & beverages, welding, sewing machine operation, solar PV technician, electrician and fitter, and helps the trainees with placements in companies of repute. The 45-65 days training programme is designed as per the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) guidelines and around 10,000 youth from Chhattisgarh have been trained since inception. Vedanta Skill School has been imparting these trainings in convergence with government schemes like Mukhya Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (MMKVY), NABARD, Skill India Impact Bond (SIIB) and National institute of Solar Energy (NISE).
