BALCO was incorporated in year 1965 as the first Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in India and since then it has been closely associated with the Indian Industrial Growth, in a pivotal role. In 2001 Govt. of India disinvested 51% shares of Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) to Sterlite Industries (India) Limited (now known as Vedanta Limited).

  • After disinvestment, a smelter of capacity 245 KTPA has been established in the year 2004.

  • Finishing lines are capable of producing high quality Ingots, Wire Rods, Busbars and Rolled products.
  • BALCO sources alumina from our refinery at Lanjigarh as well as through imports, resulting in a blend of domestic and imported supply.
